In the final portfolio, i made the changes according to your comments. In the profile, with your help fixed the mechanical problems. I edited Collages as you commented on them. Took out the picture from character collage and changed the picture of Hitler so that it blends better in analysis collage. For the podcast you did mentioned to increase my voice but i listened to it again and this time it seemed fine.

I came across this website which list the most influential novels, look at the list and see if the novel that influences the most is listed there.
Novels

While Doing my project, i came across a true story during the times of slavery. In 1856 Margaret Garner and seven other slaves escaped from Kentucky across the Ohio river to freedom in Cincinnati. But their owner Archibald Grimes accompanied by US deputy marshal attempted to arrest them. Before they were captured Garner slit the throat of her daughter and try to kill the other two but was captured. It just shows how brutal the system of slavery was. That a mother will kill her children to avoid slavery. This true story was used by Toni Morrison in Beloved.

1. Playlist
Playlist at first seemed hard but it did help alot especially when i was writing my profile. When i was composing my playlist i had to think in Thoreau's point of view. What is the most significant thing that Thoreau believed, in his case living simple. Coming to this conclusion is not easy, especially when he has written in so many topics. So playlist made me analyze my character rather then getting facts.

Revision of profile

Thoreau

Thoreau is well known for Walden, which acclaimed him the father of modern American nature writing. He also helps transcendentalism move ahead, the idea of one believing in himself. Thoreau through is believes and practically living aside from the world help change American believes and culture. He also was against slavery thus dislikes government role in individual's life. Here are some songs that Thoreau will use as his autobiography;

1. Simple Life by Carolyn Dawn Johnson can best describe how simple Thoreau life was. He was born in small town Concord, Massachusetts. He was named after his deceased uncle. There were some twist and turns in his life. He wanted to do enough to live properly. Stated in his essay "Life without principle", "Those slight labors which afford me a livelihood, and by which it is allowed that I am to some extent serviceable to my contemporaries, are as yet commonly a pleasure to me, and I am not often reminded that they are a necessity".
