Constant Sorrow

So I found myself singing this song in the shower yesterday. I thought maybe some of you also had the same experience, so here it is to get it out of your head! ...or put it in!

The song seems to really mirror some of their experiences. Leaving home after being convicted, then traveling all over after they are freed, only to be met by constant bad happenings.

Today's Movie

So Dan had me thinking a lot about visual elements in a movie. I still have trouble picking out particular things such as special lighting and editing other than what he pointed out though! I saw a lot of scenery images and it seems to always be dark in the movie so far. Did anyone notice any particularly interesting elements today?

Coen Essay

Just looking into our next assignments. The calendar says the Coen Essay was assigned for last class. Did that not happen or did I somehow black out during that part of class? Thanks!

Chigurh, or however it's spelled

So I was thinking about this character after class today and how we discussed that the book has been criticized for glorifying violence. I can see that a little clearer now after thinking about Chigurh. This character is introduced to the book with no drive for his killings. He even chases Moss all over the place seemingly for a bag of money. When you think about it though, how does he even know about Moss and the money? It's not explained if he was hired to find the money, or if he came across it earlier.

No Country For Old Men

This may make some "reading enthusiasts" angry

Well first, I have made it through page 130 already and that was just in one sitting. The book is definitely well written even though I already know the whole story from the movie. Definitely a quick, easy, entertaining read. This coming from someone who has read one book since high school.

Midterm Collage

Midterm

Hey Dan,
Is the Midterm still set for Wednesday? I don't think we covered that in class, and I wasn't sure since we have not been keeping strictly to the schedule. Thanks!
