Final Portfolio-Nostalgia: The Evocation of Danderson's Spring Semester

So, I didn't know what to expect, joining the class for the first time in its third meeting, witnessing the postponement of our first assignment and the sight of Daniel Day-Lewis running bare-chested through the forest. But the study of these texts in both literature and film, as well as the media-based approach that was a contrast to my otherwise black and white Carolina English-class experience, proved a very interesting investigation into the complex layers of film adaptation and encouraged the comparative analysis of something I had rarely before considered.<!--EndFragment-->

A reflection on a semester in new media

Dear Reader,

Final Thoughts from a student

As the class comes to a close, I am realizing I am half done with college. It is interesting to see how I've grown in the four semesters I've been here. I have been accepted into the major I wanted and life is good, but some of my closest friends are leaving, or have been gone for a year now and I haven't kept in touch with them enough. I think about how I'm not going to be in a dorm next year, which could take some adjusting too. It will be weird to have my own room and bathroom. As my college career continues, I need to treasure these moments while they last. I shouldn't work so hard all the time to make this end. These are the greatest years of our lives, and I plan to make it that way.

Tar Hell Bred,

Grant Harrison
