The continuing war over digital books...

Google has announced their entry into the world of digital books. I personally am really excited about this because I feel that Google will put a lot of pressure on the market, as far as prices go, to make it more consumer friendly. Google Books, I think, has been one of the greatest developments of the past decade, and I'm excited to see what they're gong to do with some more modern, full, paying content. Further, because they're going to be browser based, readers using an iPad, for example, will be able to easily buy books from Google. Apple are notoriously jealous and greedy when it comes to sharing their platforms, so it will be interesting to see how they react. My guess is they'll think of some crazy and thoroughly communist-esque way to make sure you can't read Google products on their device.

On another note, the comment that the author makes about the convergence of Google and Apple at the end is quite interesting to think about.
