I'm a big collector of Internet bits and pieces. Sometimes, these are just scraped together from what I find online. More often, though, they are prizes carried forth from teaching/learning. Since we'll be building these kinds of artifacts this semester, I'll begin with some items from the collection:
Santiago
The Age of Emo
The Jack Jam
Collages
After we look over these resources, we'll start our first assignment, which is to find some potentially useful plantings for a thinking about literature, art, and media. To complete the assignment, follow these steps:
First, create a new account on our blog--be sure to use your regular name, not a screen name.
Next, explore the Web looking for items that meet the criteria we have discussed in class. When you find an item or two, select the Create content option on the Web site and compose a new blog posting. Paste in the link to the item(s) that you have found, and then write a brief exploration of the ways the item speaks to literature, the arts, or media.
Submit your posting in the next twenty-four hours. You can read and respond to the postings of others before class on Tuesday.

Hello Mr. Anderson, I've been trying to get in touch with you for a while now, but I guess your week has been just as busy as mine. Anyway, I'm sending my message as a comment because I've sent emails and tried calling, but neither worked, but I figured you'd be on the site a lot now grading our portfolios. The reason for my writing this is simple: I was checking Blackboard for my portfolio grade and noticed a lot of dashes. I was unaware of the check-dash system, but I was wondering if the dashes meant I was absent because I'm almost certain I only missed three classes. There were a couple of times I was late though because of job-related workshops. Anyway, I was just wondering if we could meet Tues to discuss this matter. If not, I hope you have a wonderful summer and thanks for GREAT semester!!!
