Phish

So, I've had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to do for my podcast... I really enjoy music and had a hard time deciding on one song to work with.

But after much thought, I've decided to work with the band Phish. The song I'm going to work with is called "Waste," but to make things interesting, I'd like to do a sort of comparative analysis of the original studio recording and a live version.

I hope to see if being performed live brings different poetic elements to the table in music.

I think thats a really great

I think thats a really great idea. As a fellow Phish fan, I totally can see how the authenticity of the work changes when its in a live setting, especially when you have an un-marketed band drawing crowds of tens of thousands.

Just curious, what album and show date are you going to be working with?

Live vs. Studio

This would be a good conversation to have, about art and experiencing art live as opposed to from an album or a picture. Also, are groups/musicians more credible/less credible due to their live performances (i.e. Britney Spears). Anyone can create an album on a computer, but how is it live, is it better than the album? How does the audience react, how do you react? Things to think about ..
