Final Portfolio

*For some reason, links to some of my projects is not working, so some things may be posted by themselves.

My final portfolio reflects what I have learned in this semester. I have learned to use technology to depict various forms of literature and themes. This portfolio includes playlists on Britney Spears, collages based on the novel Matilda and the poem “We Real Cool,” and my video creation, Why WAR? This class has taught me that you can write through not only words, but through pictures and sound.

Original Playlist

The following is a list of songs that I believe would be on her Ipod, each signifying a period of her career and personal life.

"We Real Cool" by Gwendolyn Brooks

“We Real Cool” Collage

This Collage is based on the poem “We Real Cool” by Gwendolyn Brooks. The elements are a literal representation of the poem. The musical elements, gin, pool table, and the full moon represent their lifestyles. The coffin at the end of the road represents what lies ahead if they continue on their current path.

Matilda by Roald Dahl

Matilda by Roald Dahl

This collage represents my favorite childhood novel, Matilda by Roald Dahl. The elements of this collage combine features of both the book and of the movie. The collage embodies Matilda’s world from the beginning until she comes to live with her teacher, Ms. Honey.

Britney Spears

The following is a list of songs that I believe would be on her Ipod, each signifying a period of her career and personal life.

This picture is Britany Spears in the Mickey Mouse Club in 1993. This picture signifies little Brittany before it all began: her huge music career, her marriages, children and needless to say, drama. I think Britany may reflect back on this image of innocence and wonder who she would be today if she wasn’t famous.
