Video Essay

Since it won't let me upload this video to our blog (I believe it's too large), I have included an external link to the video. Here.

This is my initial video essay. I already realize that there are many improvements that need to be made. However, that's what my final portfolio is for!
If it isn't clear in this video, my focus is on The Lost Generation. More information on them can be found on the Wikipedia article about them. The link can be found here.

The Ugliest Pilgrim

I'm surprised nobody has created a blog for this short story yet. I thought this was a fairly powerful text considering how short it was. There are a bunch of clichéd lessons you can draw from the story, like how beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that its only skin deep, etc. However, when reading it, I chose to ignore these little lessons and just focus on it being an overall good story. The pilgrimage itself was quite humorous considering she was venturing to meet a televangelist, who she somehow believed could make her "pretty".

Jean-Baptiste Clamence's Playlist

I especially enjoyed the playlist assignment because it combined music and literature, which are arguably my two favorite things. I plan on ripping some of these songs off vinyl (I don't own all the CDs) and uploading the full-length playlist for the final portfolio. I am not keen on including itunes links, because I hate the way itunes functions as a company. Not to mention, full length songs beat 30 second clips.
