In my revised playlist I wanted to bring out the main points of the collage more than the original. I made the entire collage black and white. I also blurred and distorted the images surrounding the people kissing to emphasize the couple. These revisions enhanced my collage making the project better display my playlist.

Recently I feel that everything I see on TV has to do with food and weight. Our society puts so much pressure on women to look like models it can have devastating effects. I focused my collage on society and anorexia. I wonder when the pressure will stop, or when will girls stop suffering from anorexia? Hopefully this will show you what our society is doing to effect mainly girls who live in it.

When Will it Stop?

When I was younger, for Christmas there was always that one gift I had to have. For example: that one Barbie doll, a Furby, or that certain video game, just something specific. Now I have no idea what I want. A lot of things would be nice, clothes, money, etc. But I do not have a "big gift" in mind. I wish I could have a gift in mind so when Christmas comes I can wait in excitement to open the gift I have been dreaming about for months. Maybe now I am in college I am more concerned with necessities rather than luxuries.

MashUp

This video shows a portrayel of models on the runway. Many times models share comparisons with animals in the way they walk and act. For example cat fights and cat walks can describe the model world.

Finally I am not the only one left on campus without an ipod. My parents came up for parents weekend and I guess were in the giving mood since we bought an ipod today. The only problem: My computer doesn't like itunes. Maybe it's just my inability to properly download the program but after installing, uninstalling, and installing again, I still can't seem to get itunes to work without freezing. I'm still excited because eventually I will be able to listen to my music like everyone else on campus.

I. Playlist
Across the Room Playlist

I really enjoyed the playlist assignment. I finally had the ability to put my favorite songs together and relate them through a story. My first posting of the playlist had a story line and the songs in the correct order, but it lacked depth. The story seemed superficial and almost summarized. When I revised my playlist, I added dialog and imagery so that readers can better understand the situation. The story consists of a boy and a girl who continually want to find each other. It is a basic romantic

This collage represents my playlist, "Across the Room." My playlist consist of Josh and Kate who meet at a party. The collage represents everyone dancing at the parties they regularly attended. Through a rough relationship, the end of my playlist allows Josh and Kate to finally know they need to be together. Josh and Kate are the people kissing in the collage. Everything around them is blurred or slightly distorted because when they were together nothing else mattered. The black and white represents the simplicity of their relationship that they needed to be together.

High Tide or Low Tide

This Collage represents the song "High Tide or Low Tide" sang by Jack Johnson and Ben Harper, written by Bob Marley. I took my senior trip with my two best friends to the beach. While on our trip we constantly listened to this song. The song also talks about friends staying by each others side which my friends and I do. You can see our feet standing side by side which overlays the entire collage. I used both the sun and the moon to show when the lyrics say, "in high tide or in low tide". This completely describes our friendship as we will be friends all the time. During our trip I realized that my friends remain an extremely important aspect of my life. I hope this collage displays my feelings about my trip and my friends.

Living and working in New York City, a young man named Josh feels at home as he has made a comfortable life for himself during the past two years in the big city. While in NY Josh has dated, but no girl seemed to stick as Josh always said, “I am very picky when it comes to women”. With a close group of friends, Josh enjoys casually hanging out, but normally stays away from the party scene. Josh’s best friend, Matt, on the other hand, loves to party and meet plenty of women. Occasionally Josh joins Matt and attends different parties, but he only went when Matt really wanted him to go. While at these parties, Josh receives countless stares from different girls, but these stares go unnoticed as Josh does not feel intrigued by anyone anymore. One particular night Matt invited Josh to go to a party with him. Josh right away refused as he felt tired of meeting the type of girls Matt always wanted to meet, one night stands or superficial and short relationships. After some negotiation, Matt finally got Josh to agree to go to the party, “It will be fun”, he said. While at the party, the over-populated atmosphere made it hard to maneuver through the crowd. Not expecting or wanting to meet anyone, Josh stays around his friends he feels comfortable around. While taking in the scene, Josh looks around the room but stops as something caught his eye. Across the room, Josh sees a beautiful girl wearing a bright red dress. Josh has never seen this girl before and wonders who she is. She has long brown hair that shined as she danced, and Josh could see her bright smile across the crowd when she laughed with her friends. She was absolutely gorgeous. Unable to take his eyes off of her, Josh watches the girl for the duration of the party. Trying to make his way over to her, Josh loses sight of this girl in the crowd. Completely out of character, Josh spends the next few weeks going to parties to try and find this particular girl. Matt finds it strange Josh wants to go to every party and asks him why the change of heart. Josh replies, “I just have to find something”.

I just recently discovered Ruckus.com. I was so excited that I could finally download music completely free and legitament. As I was browsing the website, I came across the playlist of the week. Different students from different colleges had posted their playlists. It's almost the same thing we did in class minus the story. I thought yall might want to check it out!

More Playlists.
