This is probaly a dumb question, but why doesn't my revised portfolio show up as a new blog post?

This is my video collage. It tells the history of Wrightsville Beach, which is where I'm from. I initially wanted to do an "insider's guide" or something of the sorts to Wrightsville Beach and have it focus on local hot spots. However, once I started reading some of the history of Wrightsville, I realized that it was really interesting and there were a lot of things I didn't know. So I went with that route for my video collage. I hope you enjoy it!

My mashup is based on MTV's reality show "The Real World." It is just a peek at how far from the real world they actually are with cameras following 'seven strangers' around their perfect five story homes.

So I want to hear everyone's awesome stories from Halloween. I think the funniest costume I saw was I guess the dirty, greasy man from Family Guy. I've never seen the show but one of my friends covered himself in Vasoline and dirt. It was disgusting. I also saw a lot of old-school Nickleodeon costumes. The GUTS referees and people from The Legends of the Hidden Temple. I thought that was funny.

Here is my final portfolio, in all its glory.

Playlist

While creating playlists from iTunes is a task I am very comfortable with, having the music and the lyrics fit into a story was something new. However, it wasn't new in a unfamiliar or exceptionally challenging way, but rather new in a creative stretch sense. I enjoyed the playlist assignment, and was very happy with how my first draft turned out. For my playlist, I chose to illustrate the life of a butterfly through the lyrics of songs. After listening to the comments of others and analyzing what I already had completed, I realized that the manner I had gone about telling the story of the life of a butterfly was somewhat wrong. It was too boring and read very much like a list of events. Dan suggested that maybe I took a first person view and wrote as if I was the butterfly. After looking again, I feel that others could understand the feelings and the exact reason why the lyrics portrayed a butterfly's life if I revised the story in a way that reader is the butterfly. I feel that in this manner it is very easy to see that the playlist can be related to your own life through growing up, maturing, and ultimately leaving home, or your cocoon, on your own with your own pair of wings. I hope you all enjoy the changes!

My playlist was on the life of a caterpillar changing into a butterfly. For my collage, I was attempting to use pictures that depicted life, movement, and change. I think I succeeded in representing the overall growth that is the main idea of the playlist.

All the pictures are from flikr.com.

In Tim McGraw's song Dancin' When the Stars Go Blue, I feel that there lies a definite contrast between the mood of the song and what the lyrics are saying. The song is somewhat slow and dreary in sound while addressing issues with vocabulary like lonely, blue, or broken eyes. But on a larger scale the song is about two people who are very much in love with eachother. I wanted to find the same juxtapositioning in my collage. I decided to use the literal lyrics of the songs for some of the pictures: "Dancin' when the stars go blue" but also have something that sharply contrasts this image. That's why I used to brightly colored flowers, against the dull and dim background.

For my Podcast,I am researching why our generation has such low turnout for voting. I feel that we have many strong political ideas and oppurtunities which is why I am interested in finding out why such a low percentage of us are actually voteing. I have a lot of information gathered and recorded, now it's just a matter of me summing up the results and making it into a legitimate Podcast. I still feel I have a lot of work ahead of me and I need a few more interviews, etc.
