It was hard for me to find an idea for this project and then my suitemate was listening to this song and I decided that I could probably do something that fit with it. References: http://www.down2earthdown2us.org/images/chart_amazon_deforestat.jpg

I decided to do my assignment on the violence in sports. Some sports have become situations for what is almost like gang violence. I contrasted this with the song "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong; a song that definately doesnt fit with what is portrayed. References:

So I was thinking about toothpaste and that got me to thinking about teeth in general. They really are a very important part of our everyday lives. Think about how many people you see every day and greet with a nice smile and a wave. One of the main things that you notice about a person is their teeth. I would argue that a person's teeth the most remembered and obvious things about them. And sometimes, it's not the best thing about them. Some poeple have very noticeable teeth; ex. William Perry(The Fridge), Justin Hawkins, Madonna. Some people have really really bad teeth; ex. Austin Powers, Freddie Mercury, (the English in general) just kidding. In all seriousness though, toothpaste is very important and most people realize this. Such as these people: youtube.

Portfolio
In composing this playlist I tried to add some personal elements to it and some things that I have experienced. It was pretty cool to put together some of my favorite songs to create a story and be able to tell it using them. This project also taught me a little bit about communicating in a different style. When doing my playlist I tried to weave the story and the lyrics together instead of just describing with a paragraph and then linking the song. I thought it was an interesting way to have my words mix with other people's words and keep the flow going more like a commentator rather than a narrator. In revising my playlist I tried to expand my own words into a deeper story while keeping the weaving of the words intact I also enjoyed my first taste of working with html to format my playlist. I found it very interesting and I learned a lot that I did not know. I might have to admit that I had just as much fun experimenting with simple html than I did with writing the story. This assignment was one of the best that I've ever done. The part I found hardest was taking songs that already told their own story and making them tell my own. All together though, this assignment was fun and creative.

This collage is meant to represent the song Facedown by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. It is an emotional song and has a very personal meaning to me. The background for the song was chosen for the lyrics: A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect I also tinted it red not only because of the band's name, but also because it is the color of passion and emotion and there is much of that in this song.

BREAKING NEWS: Terror Alert in Chapel Hill : Chapel Hill , (NC)—North Carolina Tarheel football practice was delayed nearly two hours today after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field. Head coach John Bunting immediately suspended practice and called the police and federal investigators. After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to players was the GOAL LINE. Practice resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again this season.

We have all heard the dreaded news by now; "Divorce rate higher than ever! 50% divorce rate!." How can we ever hope to stay married to our spouses in this era of mass separations? The truth is actually a lot more positive than you would think.
