NewYork

My video collage is all about the Big Apple and how is really is a microcosm. New York City is one of my favorite places in the world . I've been 9 times (10 for Spring Break!!) and every time I go, there is always something new to do. From Broadway and Times Square to Central Park, museums, Empire State building, and the Statue of Liberty, this is my ode to a city that has it all. (My personal favorite is a bakery called the Magnolia Bakery and I had to highlight the technicolored cupcakes that some people wait an hour in line for.)

I interviewed a friend of mine, Amanda, a UNC student who lives in Washington Heights and used pictures from Flcker. About half a dozen of the photos are actually mine and I wish I had more of mine on this computer or else I would have used a lot more. I credited about a third of the photos.

Composing the video was a lot more fun than I originally thought it would be. I initially couldn't think of a topic but then after I choose something I was passion about, it became easy. I had to cut down a lot of what Amanda said to make the three sections about equal. You might also notice that a lot of what she says matches up with the picture. It is really picture-heavy and I changed the duration of the pictures depending on the subject. For instance, in the part about Times Square, I wanted to give the effect of the energy and the movement of the intersection so I used a lot of pictures in a short amount of time.
