Living and working in New York City, a young man named Josh feels at home as he has made a comfortable life for himself during the past two years in the big city. While in NY Josh has dated, but no girl seemed to stick as Josh always said, “I am very picky when it comes to women”. With a close group of friends, Josh enjoys casually hanging out, but normally stays away from the party scene. Josh’s best friend, Matt, on the other hand, loves to party and meet plenty of women. Occasionally Josh joins Matt and attends different parties, but he only went when Matt really wanted him to go. While at these parties, Josh receives countless stares from different girls, but these stares go unnoticed as Josh does not feel intrigued by anyone anymore. One particular night Matt invited Josh to go to a party with him. Josh right away refused as he felt tired of meeting the type of girls Matt always wanted to meet, one night stands or superficial and short relationships. After some negotiation, Matt finally got Josh to agree to go to the party, “It will be fun”, he said. While at the party, the over-populated atmosphere made it hard to maneuver through the crowd. Not expecting or wanting to meet anyone, Josh stays around his friends he feels comfortable around. While taking in the scene, Josh looks around the room but stops as something caught his eye. Across the room, Josh sees a beautiful girl wearing a bright red dress. Josh has never seen this girl before and wonders who she is. She has long brown hair that shined as she danced, and Josh could see her bright smile across the crowd when she laughed with her friends. She was absolutely gorgeous. Unable to take his eyes off of her, Josh watches the girl for the duration of the party. Trying to make his way over to her, Josh loses sight of this girl in the crowd. Completely out of character, Josh spends the next few weeks going to parties to try and find this particular girl. Matt finds it strange Josh wants to go to every party and asks him why the change of heart. Josh replies, “I just have to find something”.

The story that I've decided to tell is "Gone with the Wind". It is one that most probably know but I've selected current songs to bring it up-to-date. Scarlett O'Hara is an independent southern belle living in a huge plantation, Tara, right before the break of the Civil War. She lives a spoiled, superficial life where she only has herself to worry about. Like other girls, Scarlett endures a lot to get dolled up for the parties like pinching her cheeks to make them rosy and having her mammy tie her into her corset. Men flock to flirtatious Scarlett so she has fun leading them on. "I know what boys like

I'll be using the songs I list on my playlist to tell the story of the life of a butterfly from birth to death. I challenged myself to take a simple, story that life naturally hands us and use the lyrics of songs from different genres and eras to describe the butterfly's actions and feelings. As a butterfly life begins with growing and developing in an egg laid by the mother with the anticipation of one day breaking free. This stage of life can be best described through Angel & Airwaves song The Adventure. Hey, oh, here I am,

Of course there are a million and one songs out there about love and relationships, so I’ve decided to be one of the sappy romantics that uses almost ALL these type songs. The only difference there is going to be between my playlist and those of other who use love songs is that the story my playlist tells is my own. I’ve found several songs over time that I can connect to my own relationship and settled on telling my story through all of these songs. I’ve combined all of the songs into one incredibly long “song” which takes you through the beginning of my current relationship all the way up to where we are today. I’ll warn you now, I love this guy, and you’ll definitely be able to tell with the lyrics I’ve chosen. I’ll give you the spliced lyrics and then give you a summary at the end of my relationship in case you weren’t quite following the lyrics.

A new day dawns over 13th century, medieval England. All throughout the kingdom of Changril, the people wake for the day’s chores. The peasants take to the fields, the knights and squires off to training, and the royal family decorates themselves for another day of presiding over their wonderful kingdom. One peasant family, however, does not head out to the fields, for the mother has just been through an excruciating night, culminating in the birth of a beautiful baby boy right at the unfolding of dawn. She and her husband deemed this child “Diluculo,” the Latin word for “Dawn.”

The Rumblers were a huge group in the 70's, mostly appealing to young teenage girls. Composed of 5 guys, they seemed poised to take over pop music. However, everyone stopped looking at the other 4 guys and realized the lead singer, John Markenblad was more than just some sappy teen crooner. After the group's 5th and most critically acclaimed album, which Markenblad co-wrote Babyface- Everytime I Close My Eyes- John was a troubled teen before joining the group in 1972, but that turned around and he knew he had a safe haven in the Rumblers.

Deep in the ocean, where no person could swim, there lived millions of fish of all different shapes and sizes and colors. There was one fish in particular who stood out from the rest. He was covered in the most beautiful scales any fish had ever seen. Shades of blues and greens, and all different colors, with shiny scales that glimmered in the light as he swished his tail back and forth to swim. He was called Rainbow Fish. The other fish loved to watch Rainbow Fish swim by, and when he passed all eyes were on him. |
