school/work/school/work/school/work

2 summer classes, 30 hrs/week of work and a 4 yo are not conducive to summer fun. I am a little behind in both my classes but I am hoping to catch up soon. Things cant get much more hectic than they are right now. I mean, they could, but I REALLY hope not. Maybe the 3 week break in August will allow me to relax and rejuvenate a little but I doubt it will have too much of an effect. I havent been to the beach in 2 years, so maybe I'll take a weekend and go - alone - w/ no one to bother me or tell where I need to be when or what I need to do now, etc. I said that last year too and my long weekend alone never materialized.

watch out

Posted On: Wed, 2006-07-05 14:48 by NirgendwoFrau

I am so tired today b/c my 4 yo has strep throat. He was sick all weekend and yesterday; so my 4th of July was effectively spent feeding him medicine and jello. I am pretty sure I get sick too and wont that be fun in the middle of summer session. Its really awful trying to understand and communicate w/ a 4 yo - they can kind of get across what they need to, but if something hurts then they just cry - all nite and all day :). Apparently there some sort of new strain of strep throat going around affect adults and kids. Yuck.

Online Profile

Geek website

Player website

Airhead website

Go getter website

Jock website

Our Geek's website is one of particular grandeur. It is obvious that he is 'super' at designing websites and a very avid comic book reader. The webpage is very large (you have to navigate w/ both side bars) w/ lots of pics and links to videos. Under his profile, he says he is a body builder but that doesnt quite fit w/ our image of a 'geek.' He also states that he is straight but his friends seem to think that he is gay - who knows? There isnt any music that we can find but there are videos to watch (and perhaps to enjoy).

NOW's Final Entry

Posted On: Thu, 2006-06-29 13:32 by NirgendwoFrau

Final draft of profile is attached - I tried to include more personal opinions and views in this version, but I dont know ifthey really come across. I wanted to stay away from that actually and just present NOW as an organization, but they may make it more interesting to read for those interesetd. If anyone has any more suggestions, please let me know. I am open to 'constructive criticisim' :).

Profile Comments: NOW

Posted On: Wed, 2006-06-28 13:35 by NirgendwoFrau

I have worked my profile into a brochure type document to make it a little easier for those who are not familiar with NOW (the National Organization for Women) to read and understand. There are several internet links in the document and I encourage anyone who is interested to check them out. This is very political organization and I would love to hear any opinions, pro- or con- regarding my topic.

NOW and Women's Rights (the Playlist)

Posted On: Fri, 2006-06-23 14:58 by NirgendwoFrau

Women have been struggling for equal rights as well as equal acceptance in societies all over the world for more than a century. NOW (the National Organization for Women) has been a crucial entity in advancing these rights. Created in 1966 by Betty Frieden and Pauli Murray, NOW has held true to its purpose for more than 30 years. It has been and is supported by millions of women across the globe, through grass root campaigns as well as developing political leaders for the future. I hope to document a very small portion of the organization's and women right's history through a view blogs and samples from different influential musical artists.

Chapel Thrill is awesome!

Well, class was definitely interesting today. I am pretty excited that we dont have to write too many papers and am very glad I am going to be able to hone my technology skills.

Otherwise, in our group today we did a fairly good job going through the assignment (but I think we like to talk a little much :). Our basic definition of profile included several things: backgroung, interests, influential ppl in your life, 'who are you?', and goals and dreams. We thought you could include other things like work experience and education level to make your profile your own personal resume for others to view. We didnt get much farther than that (see talking concerns above :).
