Between my midterm portfolio and now I have added the collages, the pod cast and the video. I reworked the pod cast which was probably my weakest assignment. My collages were improved, so now hopefully everything is in top shape. I guess we'll see.

My playlist was about a personal experience. I had never done a musical essay but it was fun. I had a chance to tell a story with music. This project showed me that communication comes in more forms than speaking and writing. I also learned to compliment my writing with music, a technique that came in handy for the pod cast.

As all the other blogs have reminded me, yes, the session is almost over. I too am excited about ending classes and getting out of town for a few days. However, these last four days are, for me, a waiting game. My other class cancelled all meetings for the last two days and that means I only have to be in English and finish the portfolio. Luckily, I am almost done, so now I am just aching to leave. Unfortunately I have one exam on Thursday and can't leave until then. In the meantime, I guess I'll just remain bored.

Today I fanally made my conditioning times. The test is running four 300 yard shuttles in under 75 sec with a minute between each shuttle. When I came at the beginning of the summer, I could barely make one. But today for the first time I barely made all four. I am getting in better shape and I am tired because of it. I think there are only two more days of physical punishment before I get a break. Nothing against the class, but I am ready to get out. Leaving less fat than before.

Last night I saw one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen. It was funny/scary/totally messed up. A girl who lives down the hall is a lesbian. Last night she was caught cheating on her girlfriend. We'll call the girl who lives down the hall "girl 1" and her girlfriend "girl 2". When girl 2 found girl 1 cheating she went and found some box cutters. One of my friends was standing in the hall when girl 1 came briskly walking down. She ducked into a room and locked the door. The friend then quickly saw girl 2 with the box cutters in striking position and scrambled into his room. As she walked down the hall she punched the glass out of the fire extinguisher case.

I have realized that I sold my soul to the University of North Carolina. All day, every day is devoted to the university. I have a rigid schedule that I have to follow that includes going to class, working out, studying, and going to meetings. I understand what Rachad McCants meant when he said playing here was like being in jail. I actually compared the situation to prostitution because I am trading my body to the football team for money to go to college. College is tough. I stay up late studying, trying to succeed in the classroom as well as on the football field. I hope I last five years.

Profile
I learned a lot about Emerald Isle's history when writing this paper. I have been going to that beach for my entire life, yet knew almost nothing about the island before I started going there. Talking to my grandfather, Dr. Morgan, about his experiences was a great conversation and I could tell it conjured up some good memories. Writing this paper was a good way for me to get to know the island's past and present.

This is my personal collage. It has a person studying and a beach as the background because they are two big parts of my life. I used a UNC logo for the sun in the corner. I have an outline of Indiana because I lived there for 10 years and an outline of North Carolina because I was born here, lived here, and spent a lot of summers here. I also have a football because that is a major part of my life. Finally I have the boy scout logo in the bottom left corner because I am an Eagle Scout and that used to be a big part of my life. I think the overall image came out well.
