My Last Blog Entry...

This summer has definitely been the most stressful one I have ever had. Constant school work, and hardly any break between summer session 1 and this past spring semester (which was an extremely difficult semester for me). I have my AFAM 40 final this thursday, and I'll finally be done with school for just short of a month. Unfortunately that thursday, I must begin packing and moving out of the house I am in now; it's going to be rough, because our house is a mess, and it must be spotless before we have to move out (which is Aug. 1). Plus we have so many keg shells just laying around, so we nee

ENGL 12 Assignments
The above link is an index page of my server that lists all of the assignments for quick reference. But below are links to the individual assignments, which are located in the above link as well.

Playlist / Profile
I actually added more text to some of the songs in the playlist and replaced La Grange with The Ballad of Curtis Loew, because it fits in better with the profile. I actually enjoyed doing this assignment because I really did learn a lot about my father while doing this.

i'm feeling a little rough today, but it's ok. i had one of the best times of my life last night. went to the lynyrd skynyrd and 3 doors down concert in raleigh, and i have to say that was the best concert i have ever been to.

guess what...

Posted On: Fri, 2006-07-14 10:50 by bigpapasj

it's 6:50 AM and i am still up, even after enjoying an evening at lucy's bar for 80s night. why exactly?... i have no clue. well, i guess since i didn't wake up until 3:30 in the afternoon yesterday has something to do with it (that is something i am really mad about because i seriously did have my alarm set for 8:45 AM, and had no intention of missing both of my classes).

anyways, during the time i should have been sleeping, i did learn how to play the bass part to aerosmith's "what it takes". since i am currently not in a band, my friends request that i play the bass to their favorite songs (i turn down the bass all the way on the actual recording, and play the bass with the recording, which seems kind of lame, but it works). "what it takes" is a favorite of the girl i am crazy about and has become somewhat our song. i know that she would really enjoy it if i played it to her with me as "the bassist" rather than tom hamilton of aerosmith, even though she revealed to me tonight that she doesn't have a clue what the "bass" is when listening to music.

Ok, I'm confused. It's 3:30 in the afternoon, and I just woke up. I set my alarm for this morning to go to class; I fell asleep and the next thing I remember is waking up just now.

Mid-Term Portfolio

Playlist and Profile

The playlist, I thought, was not that difficult to compose. I already knew what types of songs I would use once I picked my father as my subject. I did revise the explanation of Free Bird because it is such an emotional song for my father, that I thought that I should do more with it; it definetely made me reflect on how I wish I got to know my father's brother, Eric.

The profile was actually quite difficult itself. I thought I knew my father well enough to write it, but I ended up having to really talk to him and ask questions for it. I'm really glad I got to do this on my father, because of his work and me eventually going off to college, we were never as close as we would have liked to have been. This assignment definetely sealed some gaps in what I originally knew about my father.

really tired

i've been up all night studying for an afam mid-term that i have today at 11:30, so i'll definetely be in a sleepless daze in class a few hours from now. maybe, if i had studied the past few nights rather than intoxicating my body with alcoholic beverages at the bars, i wouldn't be in this situation, haha. oh well, i had a great time, so it was worth it. i have no complaints specific to this class; i am just sick of school, and i find myself more burned out from it with each passing day. i am really looking forward to the break between summer and fall classes, because i really do need it since i've pretty much haven't had a break since last summer (with the exception of a short christmas break).

Now it's time for me to go get ready for the bars tonight... 80s night at Lucy's!
One of my housemate's jokingly said once, "everytime someone plays a synthesizer, a puppy dies", so they better be playing a lot of 80s rock and not a lot of what we like to call "gay-ties" music, except for journey, cause they rock.
