"Final" N-Word Podcast

It's a little open ended, but i think there is enough commentary for the listener to make their own opinion about the situation. This is such a complicated theme, I think it's too dificult to define a stance and therefore decided to make it more of a documentary than me arguing a specific point.

N-Word Podcast

I really enjoyed this project. It was probably the first school assignment I have ever taken pride in doing. When I thought of this topic I was really nervous but very excited. I wanted to be able to talk to people and learn about how different people react and feel about the word because the word is so symbolic of so many race issues and cultural progressions in our society. I've made all my family listen to it, I've even got my friends to listen to it, and everyone told me they found it interesting. I was very proud that I made somthing that people actually enjoyed listening too, and it was for school!

I pretty much lived this project for about 2.5 days, runnin around Durham and Chapel Hill, trying to get enough nerve to ask people if I could interview them. I only seemed to offend a few people, those who refused to talk to me about it. Overall I am so glad I did this project. It was the best assignment I've ever had. Chosing a topic I was truely interested in was key to success, so I'm happy I was able to think up of what I did.

Using Audacity was frusterating at times but eventually it would start to come together and pump me up, motivating me to do more to the tracks and just make it intricate and yet still flow smoothly. Peicing the interviews together was the hardest part as I had to find little clips for each section, it was tedious but it made everything much better in the end.

I felt like I connected with several people through talking with them and recording their thoughts and ideas on the matter. This made the experience of the project very significant. I can't say enough good things about my time spent working on this and the final product, so hopefully you get my point. I definitely would have done this just for the sake of doing it and having the final product to show for it.
